"Which is best? Which is safest?"
Do you have an old fuse box with those ceramic fuses that still use wire? The age of fuse wire is long gone and so too should be that fuse box! Much better to have a brand new “trip switch” box and know you and your family are safe. The old ones are no longer suitable - and that’s even if you don’t replace a fuse with a one inch nail like I once found (Oh yes, I’ve seen it all!). Perhaps you have more than one old fuse box on your wall, or fuse boxes with missing screws or covers? If so, it’s time to upgrade – get a safe modern trip switch consumer unit.
A modern trip switch consumer unit is equipped with an RCD (a Residual Current Device) and is your first line of defence against potential electric shock or fire caused by faulty or damaged wiring. Bringing your fuse box or old consumer unit up to date is an essential step towards making your home safe. And it’s so much more convenient too!

With a wealth of experience behind me and many, many satisfied customers, I can get your home rewired safely, professionally and flexibly in a way that suits your needs and lifestyle whilst meeting all the latest electrical standards.
However, if you are not sure if your property needs rewiring, just contact me and I can come and see you. I will carry out a FREE* visual inspection (with no obligation) and talk you through the general condition of your wiring and what you might need to do. For large properties (or those that have had many additions or alterations over time), I might offer to carry out a formal inspection after which you will receive an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) and based on this I will be able to give YOU my final recommendations. Whatever is needed, I can help you understand it so that you can make an informed choice.
Rewiring occupied property is not an easy task, but: “Where there’s a will, there’s a way...”. I have never yet found a property that couldn’t be helped! And I will always try to cause as little inconvenience to you whilst the work is going on. I can be flexible to meet your needs.
